Football Recap: Americas Trail Blazers vs. Tascosa Rebels

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Americas can now relate to. They lost 30-9 to the Tascosa Rebels on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, the Trail Blazers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Cam'Ron Johnson and Trey Guevara certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Johnson gained 154 total yards, while Guevara picked up 91 receiving yards and a touchdown. Guevara really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 77 yards.

Americas wouldn't let Tascosa keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Americas can thank Jaden Sias and Johnson for forcing both of them. Sias has been hot , having also posted five or more total tackles the last seven times he's played.

Coltyn Fulton was his usual excellent self, rushing for 135 yards and two touchdowns for Tascosa. Tascosa is 4-2 when Fulton posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Reese Cabe was another key player, rushing for 71 yards and a touchdown.

Americas has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Tascosa, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Americas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tascosa, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Saginaw at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Saginaw will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Tascosa surely won't give up without a fight.
