Volleyball Recap: Dixie Flyers vs. Orem Tigers
Dixie and Orem squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Dixie had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Orem Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Flyers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-8, 25-17.
Ilaisaane Mauinatu paced Dixie's offense, picking up four kills. Mauinatu got some help from
Kawena Crowell and her five assists.
Orem can attribute much of their success to Ashley Scott, who had ten digs and two aces. Scott is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in the last four games she's played.
Dixie's defeat dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Orem, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 25-4.
Dixie wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Hurricane on the 1st. Orem has also already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Ridgeline on the 1st.
