Edmonson County is 0-6 against Warren East since March of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will challenge the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Edmonson County needed a bit of extra time to put away Grayson County. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 10-7. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildcats' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Julie Norris spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emma Price, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Davis, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Edmonson County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Warren East waltzed into their matchup on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Purples 5-3.
Kennedy Lawson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Kaylee Jones was another key player, earning one run and four stolen bases.
Warren East pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Edmonson County, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-12 record.
Edmonson County suffered a grim 15-5 defeat to Warren East in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
