After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Del Sol, Spring Valley was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Las Vegas Wildcats by a score of 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.
In the three sets Spring Valley was on fire: they won each by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-26, 25-8, 25-11.
Yahir Pin-Torres paced Spring Valley's offense, picking up 12 kills. Pin-Torres got some help from Zaydeus Palado and his 37 assists. Finally, Rammses Niz and Dylan Agustin kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked seven attacks.
Las Vegas' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Omar Duarte, who had 20 digs and one assist. Duarte has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last nine times he's played.
Spring Valley's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Las Vegas, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Spring Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Clark on the 2nd. As for Las Vegas, they will square off against Desert Oasis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
