Basketball Game Preview: Freedom Patriots vs. Ball Tornadoes

The Freedom Patriots will be taking part in a tournament against the Ball Tornadoes at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Freedom is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.

Freedom is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since December 27, 2023 last Friday. They fell just short of King by a score of 54-51. The Patriots have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Peter Radigan, who posted six points and 19 rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Josh DeVore, who earned 12 points.

Even though they lost, Freedom smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Ball lost to Friendswood at home by a 52-37 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Tornadoes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Mustangs are ranked 35th).

Freedom now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Ball, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
