Basketball Game Preview: Hiwassee Dam Eagles vs. Swain County Maroon Devils

After both having extra time off, the Hiwassee Dam Eagles and the Swain County Maroon Devils will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Hiwassee Dam is headed into Friday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were dealt a 68-39 defeat at the hands of Murphy last Friday.

Meanwhile, Swain County came up short against Hayesville on December 13th and fell 56-43. The matchup marked the Maroon Devils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Hiwassee Dam's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Swain County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Hiwassee Dam barely slipped by Swain County in their previous meeting on December 3rd, winning 73-72. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hiwassee Dam since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
