Basketball Recap: Ames Starts Season with Loss at Home

Ames unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They received a blow on Saturday as they fell 51-32 to the Ankeny Hawks. If the Little Cyclones were looking for revenge after losing 66-28 to the Hawks when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ames didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-47 loss against Carlisle on the 24th. As for Ankeny, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Des Moines Christian at 7:45 p.m. on December 1.
