The Riverside Prep Silver Knights will square off against the University Prep Jaguars at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverside Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Riverside Prep is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Colony.

Riverside Prep got a good showing from Logan Sarkesian, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Sarkesian has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Riverside Prep saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayman Pluma, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, University Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against Hesperia Christian, falling 10-3.

Adriel Salazar made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Joseph Campos also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Riverside Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for University Prep, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Riverside Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like University Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Riverside Prep's way against University Prep in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Riverside Prep made off with a 29-0 win. Do the Silver Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
