Volleyball Recap: Chapin's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Chapin unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Montwood Rams. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Montwood scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 17-25, 25-22, 25-21.

Zoeh Cereceres paced Chapin's offense, picking up 16 kills. Cereceres got some help from Patricia Myres and her 44 assists. Finally, Cereceres was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Montwood had a senior duo take command as Isabella Meneses had 21 digs and one assist and Raelyn Reyes had 13 digs and one assist. Those 21 digs set a new season-high mark for Meneses.

Chapin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Montwood, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Chapin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Immanuel Christian on the 21st. As for Montwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Canutillo on the 21st.
