Volleyball Recap: Minersville Comes Up Short

Minersville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Marian Catholic, falling 3-0. If the Battlin' Miners were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to Marian Catholic when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-8, 25-5.

Marian Catholic found their leader in freshman JoElle Currie, who had 16 assists and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Currie.

Minersville's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Marian Catholic, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Minersville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Tri-Valley on the 16th. As for Marian Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Hazleton Area on the 15th.
