Basketball Recap: Austin Achieve Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Wilmer Romero and Braylon Groce

Austin Achieve lost against Giddings back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Polar Bears took a 66-51 bruising from the Buffaloes.

Austin Achieve's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Braylon Groce, who shot 44% from the field to rack up 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, and Wilmer Romero, who posted 18 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Ja'Siah Turner, who put up eight points.

Austin Achieve dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Austin Achieve will head out to face off against McDade at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Giddings, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Taylor at 7:45 p.m. on December 2.
