Basketball Recap: Rampart Rams vs. Vista Ridge Wolves
The Rampart Rams's game on Thursday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to Vista Ridge. Rampart was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
Loss or not, Rampart got some senior leadership from Izzy Dalrymple and Emily Huxtable. Dalrymple scored 16 points, while Huxtable. scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Huxtable hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vista Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooklyn Kaiser, who scored 12 points along with five steals. Kaiser has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Byers, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Rampart's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Vista Ridge, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.
Rampart will head out on the road to take on the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Vista Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
