Basketball Recap: Lynnwood Comes Up Short

Lynnwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Stanwood Spartans 69-28. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Spartans are ranked 48th).

Despite the loss, Lynnwood saw an underclassman step up: freshman Nina Wilson posted 14 points. That was a full 50% of Lynnwood's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Lynnwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Stanwood, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Lynnwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-46 loss against Shorewood on the 3rd. As for Stanwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 75-15 win against Marysville Getchell on the 3rd.
