Football Recap: Lake Cormorant Starts Season with Win Against PURE Academy

Lake Cormorant gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the PURE Academy Athletes with a sharp 42-20 victory. Lake Cormorant pushed the score to 35-14 by the end of the third, a deficit PURE Academy had little chance of recovering from.

Lake Cormorant's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. PURE Academy's QB won't forget Ryan Robinson anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Lake Cormorant got some further help from Eric Vaulx: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made five total tackles (2.0 for loss).

PURE Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Cormorant will venture away from home to face off against DeSoto Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for PURE Academy, they will face off against Rosa Fort at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
