Softball Recap: Grace Baptist Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against Hixson

Grace Baptist Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Hixson Wildcats by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Eagles of the 12-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2016.

Hixson's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grace Baptist Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Silverdale Academy at 5:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for Hixson, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Hixson Wildcats duke it out with Whitwell Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
