Recap: Broomfield Eagles vs. Wheat Ridge Farmers
The Broomfield Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Wheat Ridge 92-32 on the road. That 92-32 margin sets a new team best for Broomfield this season.
Leading Broomfield to victory were Joey Cook and Andrew Effland. Cook scored 19 points along with six rebounds, while Effland scored 21 points. The match was Effland's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Zufall, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Wheat Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Rainalter, who scored 11 points. Rainalter scored a full 34.4% of Wheat Ridge's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. David Salcedo was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
The win makes it two in a row for Broomfield and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Wheat Ridge, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Broomfield will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cherokee Trail at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Cherokee Trail focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Friday. Wheat Ridge and Mitchell will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mitchell comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
