Baseball Recap: Rye Takes a Loss

Rye was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 7-4 to the Las Animas Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in April.

Rye saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Branson Burbidge, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Wyatt Scheid also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Rye's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Las Animas, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-5.

As of now, neither Rye nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
