Basketball Recap: Wayne Christian Comes Up Short

Wayne Christian lost against Greenfield back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wayne Christian Eagles were dealt an 89-33 defeat at the hands of the Greenfield Knights. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 559th, while the Knights are ranked 30th).

Wayne Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Greenfield, they pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Wayne Christian Eagles challenge the Epiphany Falcons at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wayne Christian is facing Epiphany at the right time seeing as Epiphany is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Greenfield has already played their next contest, an 84-57 win against First Flight on the 18th.
