Basketball Recap: Crane Medical Skates Past American International Academy with Ease

Crane Medical waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat American International Academy 58-31. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 135th in Illinois, while American International Academy are ranked 483rd in Michigan), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crane Medical's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brad Blackman, who posted eight points along with seven rebounds and six blocks. Blackman is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted three or more in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jamier Montgomery, who had ten points and six assists.

Crane Medical is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for American International Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crane Medical will venture away from home to challenge Carver at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crane Medical is facing Carver at the right time seeing as Carver is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. American International Academy has already played their next contest (against Universal Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
