The La Habra Highlanders will take on the El Dorado Golden Hawks in a tournament on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
El Dorado will be up against a hot La Habra team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. La Habra had just enough and edged out El Modena 3-1.

La Habra got a great performance from Alex Haro as he struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts Haro has posted since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, La Habra's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Gandara, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
La Habra hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Modena struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, El Dorado posted their closest victory since April 17, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Lakewood. The Golden Hawks haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Jacob Alvarez tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jake Vanderzee, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Mason Kim was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
La Habra's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for El Dorado, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 3-0.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. La Habra has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like El Dorado struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits.
