Softball Game Preview: Edon Bombers vs. Gorham Fayette Eagles

Edon has gone a perfect 3-0 against Gorham Fayette recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bombers will head out to take on the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Edon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Edon came up short against Pettisville and fell 8-4.

Nevaeh Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Kaylynn Bartlett also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Gorham Fayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 11-1 to North Central.

Gorham Fayette saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayla Sliwinski, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Bailey Jennings was another, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Gorham Fayette's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Edon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Everything went Edon's way against Gorham Fayette when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Edon made off with an 18-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bombers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
