Templeton won against Paso Robles last Tuesday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Everything went the Eagles' way against the Atascadero Greyhounds as they made off with a 17-7 win. Considering the Eagles have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Bailey Fiorenza was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Templeton got a big performance out of Reese Takigawa, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Grace Morris, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Templeton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Templeton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Atascadero, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
Looking ahead, Templeton will be taking part in a tournament against Taft at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Atascadero, they will head out to take on Golden West at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
