Soccer Game Preview: Hillsdale vs. San Mateo

The Hillsdale FIGHTING KNIGHTS will head out to take on the San Mateo Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hillsdale is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Hillsdale will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Burlingame, who they had gone 0-7-1 against in their eight prior meetings. Hillsdale beat Burlingame by a goal, winning 1-0. Given the FIGHTING KNIGHTS's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Panthers are ranked 900th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hillsdale's one-goal win came courtesy of Christopher Lopez, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for San Mateo's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aragon on Friday.

Hillsdale has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which lines up perfectly with their 7-1-1 record this season. As for San Mateo, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Hillsdale skirted past San Mateo 2-1 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Does Hillsdale have another victory up their sleeve, or will San Mateo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
