Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Mustangs vs. Centennial Huskies

For the second straight game, Roosevelt will face off against Centennial. The Mustangs will host the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Roosevelt has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with five straight defeats, while Centennial will come in with three straight victories.

Last Tuesday, Roosevelt didn't have quite enough to beat Centennial and fell 2-1.

For Centennial's part, Charles Rogers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. Rogers has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Centennial's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Mendoza, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits Mendoza has posted since back in February.

Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Roosevelt, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
