Volleyball Recap: Opp Bobcats vs. Dothan Wolves
Opp was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dothan Wolves. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
While Opp was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23.
Braleigh Nall paced Opp's offense, picking up four kills. Nall got some help from Carreline Spears and her five assists.
Dothan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Brown, who had ten kills and ten digs. That's the most kills Brown has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Colbert, who had 17 digs and one assist.
Opp's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Dothan, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-12 record this season.
Opp didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against New Brockton on the 15th. As for Dothan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Andalusia on the 4th.
