Softball Recap: Fabius Pompey Has No Trouble Against Tully

Fabius Pompey hadn't done well against Tully recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Falcons were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Black Knights. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 1-0 victory the Black Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Paige Stroh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Payton Taylor, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Maddy Marshall was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Fabius Pompey now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Tully, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Fabius Pompey does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tully, they will venture away from home to face off against Pulaski at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.25 runs per game on average), something the Black Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
