Baseball Recap: Banning Triumphs

Banning won the last time they faced Narbonne and things went their way on Monday too. The Pilots narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Gauchos 5-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pilots.

Oscar Chavez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Chavez was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brandon Villarreal, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Aj Herrera was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Banning hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive contests.

The win got Banning back to even at 10-10. As for Narbonne, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-11.

Banning will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Gauchos: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
