Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Oscar Korson and Hudson Smith Lead Brattleboro to Victory

Brattleboro won the last time they faced Mount Anthony and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Brattleboro Bears walked away with a 68-59 victory over the Mount Anthony Patriots.

Brattleboro was led to victory by Hudson Smith and Oscar Korson. Smith went 9-for-13 on his way to 18 points and seven boards, while Korson went 6-for-12 to rack up 18 points. The dominant performance gave Smith a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Dawson Wheeler, who posted seven points.

Brattleboro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Brattleboro's record now sits at 6-11. As for Mount Anthony, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brattleboro will head out to take on Rutland at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Brattleboro knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Rutland likes a good challenge. As for Mount Anthony, they are taking a road trip to square off against Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Anthony has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
