Salado took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Wimberley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Texans 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since August 14th.

The victory made it two in a row for Salado and bumps their season record up to 12-3. As for Wimberley, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-4.

Salado and Wimberley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Eagles will face off against Troy at 7:00 p.m. on September 2 with a big rank advantage (53 vs. 526). Meanwhile, Wimberley (ranked 60th) will meet Legacy Ranch (ranked 515th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
