Volleyball Recap: Sugar Hill Christian Academy Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Sugar Hill Christian Academy had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Lakeview Academy Lions. The Stallions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

While Sugar Hill Christian Academy ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-22.

Their offense was headlined by Lily Cekan and Bree Richards, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Jadyn Stern and her 15 assists. Richards was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 13 aces.

Sugar Hill Christian Academy will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeview Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Loganville Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
