Basketball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Parma's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Parma unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to The Ambrose School Archers 68-62. The Panthers were up 58-39 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The Ambrose School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lincoln Mathis, who posted 19 points along with eight boards and five steals. Mathis has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chuck Kingsley, who put up 12 points.

Parma's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for The Ambrose School, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4-1.

Parma will host Melba at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parma knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Melba likes a good challenge. The Ambrose School has already played their next contest (against Vision), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
