Softball Recap: Tallmadge Blue Devils vs. Boardman Spartans

Tallmadge and Boardman squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Tallmadge had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 2-0. The shutout was out of character for the Blue Devils seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Larissa Taylor was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Tallmadge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Huth, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Tallmadge and nudges their season record down to 19-10. As for Boardman, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.
