Softball Game Preview: New Berlin Eisenhower Lions vs. Greenfield Hustlin' Hawks

The New Berlin Eisenhower Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Greenfield Hustlin' Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

New Berlin Eisenhower came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Franklin, falling 15-8. The Lions have struggled against the Sabers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Jayda Karls was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Elliott Nielsen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Greenfield came up short against South Milwaukee on Friday and fell 5-1. The Hustlin' Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

New Berlin Eisenhower's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Greenfield, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

New Berlin Eisenhower skirted past Greenfield 4-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
