Basketball Recap: Salome Comes Up Short

Salome was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 41-33 to the Estrella Foothills Wolves. The Frogs were down 36-16 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Salome lost, don't look at Brianna Thomas. Despite the final result, she went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grecia Leon, who posted eight points.

Estrella Foothills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eva Amenhauser led the charge by putting up four points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Nemo Sidhu was another key player, posting 14 points and four steals.

Salome's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Estrella Foothills, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

Salome wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 50-3 victory against North Phoenix Preparatory Academy on the 6th. As for Estrella Foothills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-23 win against Agua Fria on the 7th.
