Recap: Northside - Pinetown Panthers vs. Lejeune Devil Pups
The Northside - Pinetown Panthers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 55-0 victory over Lejeune at home. The result was nothing new for Northside - Pinetown, who have now won seven matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Jamie Corprew continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 194 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries. Corprew is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last five games he's played. Sincere Columbus was another key contributor, rushing for 43 yards and two touchdowns.
Northside - Pinetown's win was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-10 Jones and 1-7 East Carteret (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32% over those games). As for Lejeune, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
