Basketball Game Preview: Connell Eagles vs. Granger Spartans

Connell is on a five-game streak of home losses, Granger a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 5:45 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Friday, Connell was beaten by Cashmere 56-19. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Granger had to suffer through a 67-4 loss at the hands of Mabton. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Vikings are ranked 50th).

Connell's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Granger, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

Everything came up roses for Connell against Granger in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 55-19 victory. Will Connell repeat their success, or does Granger have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
