Soccer Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Independence + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Independence). Everything went their way against the Mallard Creek Mavericks on Tuesday as they made off with a 10-1 victory. While Independence didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-12-2), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Their offense was hitting Mallard Creek from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Dennis Sanchez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

The win (which was Independence's sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those six matchups. As for Mallard Creek, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Independence didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against North Mecklenburg on the 17th. As for Mallard Creek, they will welcome Butler at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Butler's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
