Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ava Reader and Kala Lahm Lead Kaukauna to Victory

There's no place like home for Kaukauna, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Oshkosh North Spartans on Thursday. The Galloping Ghosts not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0).

While Kaukauna won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-12, 26-24.

Kaukauna was led to victory by Kala Lahm and Ava Reader. Lahm had 19 assists, while Reader had three digs and two aces. That's the most aces Reader has posted over her last seven matches.

They weren't the only good servers: Kaukauna was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive contests.

Kaukauna's win bumped their record up to 8-19. As for Oshkosh North, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Kaukauna will be taking part in a tournament against Luxemburg-Casco at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Oshkosh North, they will head out to challenge Plymouth at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
