Baseball Game Preview: Muncie Burris Owls vs. Seton Catholic Cardinals

Muncie Burris is 2-7 against Seton Catholic since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Owls will head out to challenge the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m.

Muncie Burris is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Cowan.

Dane Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Seton Catholic sidestepped Tri for a 12-11 victory. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Tyson Tremain made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tremain was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ian Vournazos was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a hit, which was his first of the season.

Seton Catholic picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Muncie Burris, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything went Muncie Burris' way against Seton Catholic when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Muncie Burris made off with a 20-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Owls since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
