Baseball Recap: Excel Christian Drops Season-High Score on Coleville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Excel Christian). Everything went their way against the Coleville Wolves on Thursday as the Excel Christian Warriors made off with a 20-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Grayson King, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Mori, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

King wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Excel Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.

Excel Christian's record now sits at 5-1-1. As for Coleville, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Excel Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Non Varsity Opponent at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Coleville, they and Smith Valley will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
