River Forest dropped their record down to 14-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They lost 34-9 to the Boone Grove Wolves. The Ingots were not able to make up for their loss to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Roberto Herrera was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Walter Jaime, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

As for Boone Grove, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Boone Grove's side, they got a massive performance out of Maxwell Truby, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, six RBI, and three doubles. Those five runs gave Truby a new career-high. Caleb Thomas also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Coming up, River Forest will take on Hammond Morton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Boone Grove, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on 21st Century Charter at 7:00 p.m. on the 28th.
