Basketball Game Preview: Rock Ridge Phoenix vs. Loudoun Valley Vikings

Rock Ridge hasn't had much luck against Loudoun Valley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rock Ridge Phoenix will be playing in front of their home fans against the Loudoun Valley Vikings at 7:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Rock Ridge took a blow against Broad Run, falling 82-51.

Despite the loss, Rock Ridge had strong showings from D.K Johnson, who shot 4-for-4 from deep and dropped a double-double on 26 points and 16 rebounds, and A.K Mo, who went 10 of 12 on his way to 24 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Mo's afternoon made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ameer Yunus, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Loudoun Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spring-Ford.

Rock Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Loudoun Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Things could have been worse for Rock Ridge, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-38 loss to Loudoun Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2024.
