Two dominant signal callers in Legend Bey and Brent Rickert are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The North Forney Falcons will square off against the Rockwall Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Forney knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Rockwall likes a good challenge.
North Forney took a 21-point loss the last time they faced off against Longview, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Falcons pulled ahead with a 56-55 photo finish over the Lobos on Friday. The win almost wasn't to be: the Falcons were down 42-21 in the second quarter.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Cordai Woodard and Andikan Asuquo. Woodard rushed for 185 yards and one score on only 11 carries while Asuquo rushed for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries. Asuquo's longest rush was for an incredible 93 yards. DeQualond Vaughn Jr did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 80 receiving yards.
North Forney was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 560 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 215 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Rockwall was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 47-41 to Rockwall-Heath. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (39), the Yellowjackets still had to take the loss.
North Forney will need to focus on slowing down Ryan Wiley, one of several Rockwall players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 77 receiving yards and two TDs. Wiley is becoming a predictor of Rockwall's success: when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Duckworth, who picked up 127 receiving yards and one score.
Rockwall has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points over those games. As for North Forney, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. North Forney has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 397.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Rockwall struggles in that department as they've been averaging 177.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
North Forney beat Rockwall 47-40 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Yellowjackets' Jamir Wilson, who rushed for 217 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
