Softball Recap: Amador Valley Dons vs. California Grizzlies
After flying high against Carondelet on Saturday, Amador Valley came back down to earth. The Dons fell just short of the California Grizzlies by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. The Dons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
Emmerson Giles and Mai Falcone did some serious damage despite the final result: Giles went 2-for-3 with one home run, while Falcone went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was Giles' first of the season. Lauren Tran was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
Amador Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
