Baseball Game Preview: McGuffey Highlanders vs. Brownsville Falcons

For the second straight game, McGuffey will face off against Brownsville. The Highlanders will face off against the Falcons at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McGuffey has five straight victories, Brownsville has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If McGuffey beats Brownsville with five runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Highlanders came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 5-1 on Monday.

Logan Carlisle was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Sam Stout was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

McGuffey's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brownsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
