Volleyball Recap: Poston Butte Comes Up Short

Poston Butte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Eastmark Firebirds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Firebirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on April 8th.

While Poston Butte had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, 25-22.

Eastmark was led to victory by Zac Chan and Seth Whitfield. Chan had 16 assists and five digs, while Whitfield had five digs. What's more, Whitfield also posted a 10% hitting percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in March.

Poston Butte's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Eastmark, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poston Butte will welcome ALA - Gilbert North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastmark, they will host Marcos de Niza at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
