Volleyball Recap: Orland Beats Gridley for Their Ninth Straight Victory

Orland had already won eight in a row and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They blew past the Gridley Bulldogs 3-0. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-0 win back in September.

Orland walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-17, 25-19, 25-10.

Lillianna Rowe paced Orland's offense, picking up 15 kills. Rowe got some help from Caydance Kremer and her 28 assists. Finally, Rowe was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high nine blocks.

Orland's victory bumped their record up to 31-4. As for Gridley, their loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 22-11.

Orland and Gridley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Trojans (ranked 160th) will meet Oroville (ranked 726th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Gridley will square off against Las Plumas at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (335 vs. 1068).
