Basketball Recap: Commodore Perry Comes Up Short

After flying high against Reynolds two weeks ago, Commodore Perry came back down to earth. The Commodore Perry Panthers were outmatched by the Rocky Grove Orioles and fell 85-34. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Orioles: they've now lost nine in a row.

Rocky Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landen Carter led the charge by going 11 of 17 en route to 25 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Noah Baughman, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 20 points and six boards.

Commodore Perry's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Rocky Grove, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Commodore Perry Panthers face off against the Maplewood Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Rocky Grove, they will square off against Cochranton at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
