Volleyball Recap: Rio Hondo Prep Takes a Loss

Rio Hondo Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Polytechnic Panthers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 4th.

While Rio Hondo Prep was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Polytechnic's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-19, 25-20.

Rio Hondo Prep's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Polytechnic, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

Rio Hondo Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Westridge at 5:15 p.m. on the 13th. As for Polytechnic, they will head out on the road to square off against Mayfield at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
