Baseball Recap: Desert Mountain Comes Up Short

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Desert Mountain was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell 6-1 to the O'Connor Eagles. The Wolves have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Bennett Nordini was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Desert Mountain saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Durben, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Desert Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for O'Connor, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Desert Mountain will host Sunrise Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for O'Connor, they will head out to square off against Boulder Creek at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be O'Connor's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
